Appendix A. Scrolling Text

Scrolling Text

You can get Scrolling text in several ways. One is to create it using the Block text tool.

  1. Press <Alt> and click on the Block text tool in the Master gizmo.

  2. Move the cursor into the drawing area. You see the outline of a box.

  3. Sweep out a text box.

    • Press the left mouse button and drag in any direction. The red outline indicates the size of the box.

    • Release the mouse button when the box is the size you want.

  4. A text cursor appears in the upper left corner of the text box and you may begin typing.

    • Type carriage returns only when you want to end paragraphs or force a line break.

    • If you type past the bottom of the block, the text at the top scrolls up and out of view to make room for the new lines you're typing. Use the scroll bar to move up and down in the text.

  5. When you finish typing, choose “Done Editing” from the Edit menu.

The second method is to follow the instructions on converting text in “Converting between Text Types: Label, Block, and Scrolling”.

Note: Regardless of how much you have written, only the text that is visible in the box prints.
