If you want to post a topic on your screen while you search through other topics, choose File > Pin-Up while viewing the topic. A new collapsed window (one without the Contents/Search area displayed) appears containing the current topic.

If you want each new topic you open to appear in a separate window, you can change the Active Viewer setting in the Options menu. See “Opening Help Topics in Multiple Viewer Windows ”.
