About OutBox

When you first logged into your system, a personal OutBox Web page was created for you. OutBox lets you use this page to share files on your system with others on your Web network.

When you drag a file icon into the OutBox publish tool and click the Publish button, OutBox makes the file accessible on your OutBox Web page. It does so by placing a copy or reference of the file in the ~/public_html directory. When others view your page, they can click on the file to view it (they cannot make changes to the file), or copy it to their system by clicking download.

Note: All files in the public_html directory appear on your OutBox Web page, even if you don't use OutBox to publish them.
