This usually indicates the vacation program cannot find or execute the sendmail program.

An experienced System Administrator can reinstall sendmail by reload the eoe.sw.unix subsystem. See the book IRIX Admin: Software Installation and Licensing. Contact your System Administrator or your service provider.
