This error indicates that an attempt was made to rebind the NIS server (also known as the “yp” server) to a new host, but the request was rejected. Binding is the process of directing an NIS client (i.e. ypbind) to get information from an NIS server.
The request is rejected for one of these reasons:
The request came from a remote host.
The request came from a incorrect port number.
ypbind was not invoked with the `-ypsetme' flag.
The request sent to ypbind did not have e the proper RPC credentials (permission.)
In some cases this message might indicate a security problem.
