For Linux users, a new section has been added for compiling and running SHMEM applications. There are no other new Linux features documented in this manual beyond those listed for MPT release 1.6.1.

For IRIX users, this revision of the Message Passing Toolkit: MPI Programmer's Manual is a total rewrite of the manual. New features include MPI-2 attributes , as described in section 8.8 of the MPI-2 standard.
